Fungsi Was dan Were dalam Kalimat Bahasa Inggris

Was dan were dalam kalimat Bahasa Inggris berfungsi sebagai kata kerja bantu (auxiliary verb) khususnya kalimat masa lampau (past tense).

Kata ini menjadi kata kerja pada kalimat nominal yakni kalimat yang tidak memakai kata kerja dan kalimat past progressive.

Contoh kalimat nominal memakai kata was dan were adalah sebagai berikut:
