Memory Game For Irregular Verbs

The following is vocabulary game. It is called Memory Game. This game needs concentration to remember some verbs in the box.

How to play memory game? Observe the procedures below!

1. Draw 3 tables and fill the box with irregular verbs. Table 1 is present form, table 2 is past form, and table 3 is past participle. Do not tell your students the words in the table.

Present Form
1. see
2. drink
3. sit
4. draw
5. make
6. do
7. stand
8. eat
9. swim

Past Form
1. sat
2. saw
3. ate
4. stood
5. made
6. did
7. drank
8. drew
9. swam

Past Participle
1. eaten
2. sat
3. done
4. swum
5. seen
6. drunk
7. stood
8. made
9. drawn

2. Draw 3 grids on the whiteboard.

3. Divide students into 2 groups.

4. Ask group 1 to call out 3 numbers from the 3 grids.

5. When the group finished calling out the number, read the words in the table you have made.

6. If the words are the parts of a verb, write down in the grid on the whiteboard. But if it's not the parts of a verb, the chance is given to another group.

7. Play the game until all the words are opened.

Note: Students are not allowed to make a note during the game. They have to remember the words only.
