Good Food
Andy: Hello, doctor. We eat food everyday, but what is good food?
Doctor: Well, Andy. Good food has seven important things.
Andy: Seven important things? what are they?
Doctor: They are carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, protein, minerals, fibre and water.
Andy: Why are they important?
Doctor: Carbohydrates give us energy so that we can do our activities. There are carbohydrates in bread, rice, potatoes and sugar. Then we need fat. It makes us strong and gives us energy, too. vitamins are very important for our eyes, skin, bones, hair and other parts of our body.
Andy: Where can we find fat and vitamins?
Doctor: We can find fat in meat, chicken, butter, cheese and oil. There are vitamins in fruit and vegetable.
Andy: What about the other things?
Doctor: we need protein to grow, minerals for our bones and teeth, and fibre to clean the inside of our body.
Andy: Where can we find them?
Doctor: We can find them in fish, egg, milk, nuts, beans and cereals.
Andy: And why is water important for our body?
Doctor: It is important for our blood. It cleans our body from the inside. We should drink enough water everyday.
