Teaching Technique: Dictogloss

| Senin, 07 Februari 2011
How do you teach grammar to your students? Give some pattern and ask them to make a simple sentence? You need new technique to avoid being bored. Please try DICTOGLOSS.

What is Dictogloss?

Dictogloss is a technique to teach grammar by testing students hearing. It's like dictation. You may use your voice or recording to apply it in the classroom.

How does it work?

First, prepare some sentences.
Example:
1. I need a towel.
2. I want a red towel
3. Sinta buys a red towel in the supermarket

Second, read the sentences one by one in normal speed.  Repeat two or three times.

Third, if you finish reading the first sentence, ask one of your student to write down on the board. Continue with the next sentences. Do the same process.

Finally, elaborate the sentences based on the part of speech. Tell them what kind of tense and ask them to make some sentences based on the model given.
