Contoh Present Tense Habitual Actions

Salah satu fungsi dari kalimat present tense Bahasa Inggris adalah untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang menjadi kebiasaan (habitual actions).

Berikut ini beberapa contoh kalimat present tense habitual actions:

• I eat breakfast before going to school.
• I go to class on Mondays to Saturdays.
• I put on my clothes after taking a bath.
• I drink a cup of coffee every morning.
• I shave my beard and mustache every 3 days.
• I always get up very early everyday.
• I usually watch TV everynight before sleeping.

Kalimat-kalimat di atas menggunakan subjek orang pertama, I. Kalau dirumuskan kalimatnya secara sederhana menjadi Subject + Verb 1. Rumus ini juga berlaku untuk subjek: You, They, We, dan subjek berbentuk jamak/lebih dari satu.

Berikut ini beberapa contoh tambahan kalimat present tense habitual actions:

• She looks in the mirror before leaving the house.
• He goes to cafetaria every break time.
• Susan always combs her hair after taking a bath.

Kalimat-kalimat di atas menggunakan subjek orang ketiga: she, he, dan nama orang tunggal. Kalau dirumuskan secara sederhana menjadi Subject + Verb 1 + s/es.
