Vocabulary Game | Dialing Numbers

Vocabulary game is useful to enrich vocabulary items. Vocabulary game can be hold before the lesson begins as warming up or at the end of the lesson as review. 

Here is one of vocabulary game usually used in the classroom. This game is called “Dialing Numbers” because students need to write the number after it’s called out by the teacher. 

Theme:
Self Identitiy

Vocabulary Items:
Numbers 1 – 100

Equipment:
4 Boardmarkers/chalks
a whiteboard/blackboard

Function:
This game is useful to improve listening skills
Procedure:
  • Divide students into three or four groups.
  • Ask students to stand in line.
  • Give each students in front line a boardmarker.
  • Tell them rule of the game: You are going to call out a number. After the number is called out, the student in front line has to write the number on the whiteboard/blackboard. Then the student must go to the back line. After that, the student 2  will have the next turn.
  • Call out a number. Example: Twenty Four
  • Give a score/point to the group writing the fastest and the correct one.
  • Repeat the activity until all students in the line have their turn to write.  
  • At the end of the activity, count the scores.
